1.  Money causes almost all of her unhappiness in her job. She does not get paid that much so that for sure is not making her happy. Because of her not getting paid enough she is not able to afford certain things.
2. Both meanings make sense because the way she is working for not that much which makes it not fun and like she is doing more than she needs to for nothing.
5. No, because in his argument he talks about that there is not that big of a problem in being poor  but Ehrenreichs problem is that there is a problem because she is poor.

1. In my opinion I do not think it would have made them more happy I think there problems were deeper than the money, I think she had a lot going on in her marriage and family that was the root of the problems.
3. I believe if he found more pay then it would take stress off the money issues which would maybe take some stress off their family issues.
7. The difficult problems are similar in both stories because they could not afford the things that they wanted which was causing a lot of problems in their lives. The big difference is that in "Twenty Grand" they could have became extremely rich if the wife did not sell the coin and that would have helped the family, in the other story she was on her own and did not have anyone to support.

Money Confession #7

   I work at an elementary school, and I work three hours a day and get paid thirteen dollars an hour. Next school year my pay raise will go up to fifteen dollars an hour and I am extatic. I really want to try and work more hours next year so I can help my dad with some money. My dad says he does not need my help but he has done so much for me that I want to help him. I hope next year, I do not blow my money. Hope this year I really learn how to budget my money, because it will help me out in the future.

Money Confession #6

I am going to Florida this summer for a soccer tournament and the tickets and hotels are not that cheap.  My parents are going to come with me so we are going to have to buy a lot of things. A month before we go to Florida , my parents are going to Puerto Rico. I feel kind of bad because we are going to be spending so much money and my parents are going to be spending a lot of money in Puerto Rico. I hope one day that I will be able to take two vacations in two months when I'm older. I feel bad always asking my dad for money because I have a job, but I have to remember that I only work fifteen hours a week and get paid thirteen dollars an hour so it does not cover my needs at all.

Money confession #5

I have been trying to eat healthy, and it is really hard. It is not hard because I can not do it, its hard because healthy food is expensive. Fruits like strawberries and grapes are so expensive, no wonder people eat so unhealthy, it is because it is the cheaper thing to do. I am Lactose Intolerant, so I have to drink a certain kind of milk called lactaid milk. Lactaid Milk is more expensive than regular milk which sucks, because if I buy regular milk I will not be able to drink it. Lettuce, fruits, and vegetables  really add up when your buying a lot of it to cut the junk food out. Back in the day twenty dollars would cover a lot, now it will cover only a few things.

Money Confession #4

School is expensive. It kind of sucks that we have to pay to get an education. I mean we are the future of the world, and some people can not even afford school. Not only is tuition  expensive but everything that comes with it is also expensive to. Such as parking passes, books, and food. With my books , I tried to find all the cheapest books I could through Amazon and Chegg. I spent a total of 150 dollars for five books. That is actually not that bad compared to the people who spend about 500 dollars on all their books. I obviously know how to bargain shop.

1. Back then it seemed as if people did not care as much for luxuries because in 1991 the percentage raised a lot. It seems as if the necessities like a good marriage is to as important today then it was before.
2. I think today you have to be extremely wealthy or rich to live the "good life ". I feel like also back then people would have rather gotten a job that they enjoyed rather than today people would rather get a job that pays high.
3. I think the chart is very clear because it shows that today society wants a lot of money to have more luxurious things.
7. I believe that the chart corroborate the findings of Davide Meyers because the hart shows that back then people had less luxuries but for the them it was still leading a good life. Now today luxuries are becoming more of a neccesity because that is what society is making of them.
8.  A lot of people worry about the material things. And it is important to the economy that people buy things. If people only spend 50 percent on things the economy would not be stable.

1. I think the meaning for this ad is "being of value beyond any price". This represents that no matter the value it will make you happy. They are basically saying that money will not buy you happiness.
5. I think David Meyers may view it as money can not buy anyone happiness. Money can not buy you the emotion of loving someone. Not everyone needs the good life to be happy, it just depends how materialistic the person is.

Money Confession, Day 3

So, I realized I lied and even though I have cash on me it is still hard for me to save money. I went to go eat sushi and the bill was pretty expensive and I used all my cash and some money on my debit card to pay for it. I do not understand why it is so hard for me to save money lately. It is definitely not as easy as it sounds. I am however, good at saving coins. I have a huge jar that just full of coins that is probably worth about 200 dollars right now, I add coins to it everyday because I am always finding coins everywhere. I just want to learn how to save my money, because especially since I am a college student I love to go out , and I want to have fun and do things. My dad does help me out but I hate asking him for money because I have a job so I should be able to take care of all my wants. Overtime I say I am going to start saving money it does not happen, So maybe next try it will work.
